Summertime is the best time to go out and blow off some steam with family and friends on the weekend. It’s a time to relax and have some fun! You might just be barhopping with friends or maybe you’re traveling around town for a friend’s birthday, but one question always comes into mind and can kill the exciting spirit you had going for the evening and that question is...who's driving?

9 Tips to Holiday Travel

As a company in the travel industry, we know that the holiday season is a big time for people to move about the world. We wanted to help our customers by compiling a list of 9 great travel guidelines.

Tip 1: Budget at least 3 hours before your flight for a shuttle.

This tip is fairly straight forward. One of the first things you learn about flying, especially internationally, is to always give yourself plenty of time.  We recommend getting to the airport 3 hours in advance so you have enough time for unexpected hiccups.

Tip 2: Know your airport, it can make all the difference.

Familiarize yourself with the airports you will be flying in and out of. The less time you spend wondering around lost, the more time you have to relax comfortably where you need to be.

Tip 3: If you and a group are roadtripping for the holidays, pay someone else to drive.

Charter services are a great holiday idea. The holidays are a time to bond with families and friends; it is hard to do that when you have to focus on a long drive. Trust someone else to drive so you can enjoy yourself.

Tip 4: Know what to pack.

Knowing ahead of time what can be carried on and what can't will make going through security easier.  All airlines state on their websites sizes, ounces, and objects that can and can't go on the plane with you.

Tip 5: Do not drive yourself to the airport.

Save yourself the hassle of parking and getting your luggage to the terminal by using our Lafayette Limo 9X a day shuttle service- no reservations required.

Tip 6: You must make reservations for our O'Hare shuttle.

You must plan ahead when booking a shuttle ride to O'Hare. Paid online reservations must be booked 24 hours in advance to ensure we have a driver ready to pick you up. We do not run without paid online reservations!

Tip 7: Prepare for the unexpected.

If you get delayed or lose a bag or need a snack, be prepared! Lots of other people are traveling and you may encounter bumps in the road. The more you prepare for the better off you will be.

Tip 8: Keep in mind time and date of flight are important.

It is fairly common knowledge that flying on weekends is more expensive and faces more issues. But less well- known is that the time of your flight also matters! Flights later in the day are more likely to get delayed. So mid-week, early morning flights are the best option.

Tip 9: Use technology to your advantage!

Cell phones, tablets, and laptops are making travel much easier these days. With options to check-in through your phone, apps that let you see your flight status, and digital maps of airports, let technology assist you in traveling efficiently.
